A number of men held the office more than once, so scribes might note the second turn in order to avoid ambiguity. The year 738 was distinguished from 748 for Adad-bēlu-kaʾʾn by the phrase ina šanêe lim-me-šú and 734 from 744 for Bēl-dān by ina šanêe pu-ri-šú. However, there is often no differentiation so the allocation of a tablet to a particular year may be doubtful (e.g. for Nergal-llāya, 830, 817, 808, or Yaḫalu 833, 824, 821).
