Kiṣir-Aššur

Cohort commander of the crown prince's bodyguard and contemporary of Kakkullanu, whose six surviving documents (nos. 28-33) date to the years 637*-618* and involve over three minas of silver. One of these documents is a purchase of a woman for 1.5 minas of silver in 636* (no. 29). Two of his five silver loans may be connected with his duties as a military official. In 618*, he lends 10 shekels of silver and 100 bales of straw (no. 32) and in no. 33 he lends 1 mina 30 shekels of silver to be paid in the form of an 8 metre long waterskin raft.

We also know from the documents of Kakkullanu that Kiṣir-Aššur owned land in Bit-Abu-ila'i next to plots bought by Kakkullanu (see nos. 42 and 45). His ploughman Šulmu-mat-Aššur is involved in a silver loan in 627* in no. 57.
