1E. Frahm (private communication) tentatively proposes that the inscription could be read as “[Palace of] Esar[haddon, who is (now also) called Aššur]-etel-ilāni-[mukīn-apli].” Alternatively, one could read the text of the obverse as “[Palace of] Aššur-etel-ilāni,” thus reassigning the text to Esarhaddon’s grandson and second successor.
