2Lamentation singers (kalû) are mentioned in line 27 of the Bavian Inscription (Luckenbill, Senn. p. 81): a-na pa-te-e ÍD šu-a-tu LÚ.MAŠ.MAŠ LÚ.GALA ú-ma-ʾe-er-ma ú-šat-[...] “in order to open up that canal, I sent an exorcist (and) a lamentation singer and ... [...].”
